He has featured on many television and radio programs, including CNN, NBC Nightly News and National Public Radio in the US. His YouTube channel has over 7.5 million subscribers, and over 1.97 billion views. With the Khan Academy, Sal has produced 6,500+ popular videos, which predominantly focus on subjects around science and mathematics.

It received 2$ million from Google in 2010 to create more courses and translate its existing library into multiple languages. The Khan Academy has been widely recognised for its work – it was awarded the 2009 Microsoft Tech Award.
